RMA Procedures
  1. RETURN OF DEFECTIVE ITEMS FOR REPLACEMENT.
    • Items must be returned in their original packaging with all relevant accessories, i.e. backplate, manual, CD, cables, etc.
    • Customer will receive a replacement as long as items are in stock
    • If item is not in stock, the customer has the option of waiting for the replacement; doing a swap to a similar item available of the same or lesser value. If none of the above options are available, Intcomex will issue a credit on the customer’s account.
    • If an item is found to be not defective, a non-refundable fee of $750.00 will be charged to the customer.
    • All monitors should have at least 5 dead pixels before it can be deem defective.
  2. RETURN OF DEFECTIVE ITEMS FOR WHICH THERE IS A LOCAL SERVICE CENTER IN JAMAICA.
    • Items purchased over a period of two weeks will be sent to the corresponding Service Center for repair.
    • When leaving such defective items, customer will be required to fill out the Intcomex Jamaica Service Center form. Customers will repair a copy of this form.
    • If the item sent to the Service Center cannot be repaired, a replacement will be issued to the customer or a credit.
    • IF the Service Center takes a considerable long time to repair/service the item, Intcomex will replace or credit the item (conditions applied)
    • The following is a list of the items for which there is a service Center in Jamaica: APC UPS; SAMSUNG; AOC; EPSON; TOSHISBA LAPTOPS; LEXMARK, LENOVO; HP; ACER; H.S.I; BLUE CODE AND DELL PRODUCTS;
    • APC UPS: This product carries a 2 weeks DOA and will be replaced or credited. However, if the item is found to be in good working order, customer will receive back the goods.
    • SAMSUNG: Intcomex Jamaica Ltd is a service Center for Samsung Monitors and Printers. There is also a 2 week DAO arrangement for this item. Samsung monitors will only be accepted if the number of pixel exceeds 4 pixels. There is only one year warranty on all CRT Tube and LCD screen. All products should be brought in directly to the service centre.
    • AOC: AOC monitors carries a 3 year Warranty with only 1 year on CRT and LCD screen. AOC monitors MUST have in excess of 5 dead pixels before it can be accepted. All products should be brought in directly to the service centre.
    • EPSON: Epson printers and projectors do not apply to DOA policy. All Epson products will be handled by the Epson service center unless otherwise stated by manufacturer. All products should be brought in directly to the service centre.
    • TOSHIBA: All Toshiba products will go through the local service center. The service center is not responsible for replacement of unit or refund. All items under warranty will be repaired without any cost to the customer. A unit which does not fall under warranty can be repaired by the service center. This will attract a service charge of $3,500.00 + GCT along with the cost for any parts required.
    • LEXMARK: Customer will call the support number 1-800-601-9467. At this point lexmark will interact with the customer to determine the problem. Lexmark issue a service number to the customer. Lexmark specifies whether the unit is exchange or repaired. Lexmark take 1 business day to update the lexservice so that Intcomex can see the case. The lexservice will inform service center exactly how to proceed. Intcomex will fulfill the request and update the lexservice software accordingly. Lexmark service center representative will drop-off or call the customer to collect replacement.
    • DELL: For Dell support customer should call the Dell SUPPORT LINE 1-800-682-3639.
    • LENOVO: All Lenovo products will go through the local service center. The service center is not responsible for replacement of unit or refund. All items under warranty will be repaired without any cost to the customer. A unit which does not fall under warranty can be repaired by the service center. This will attract a service charge of $3,500.00 + GCT along with the cost for any parts required.
  3. RETURN OF NON-SATISFACTORY DEFECTIVE GOODS.
    • Items that are defective and have physical damage WILL NOT be exchanged or credited. See physical damage below for reference.
    • Customer will have the option of leaving physical damage item to be shipped to the manufacturer. It the manufacturer accepts the return-based manufacturer rejects the item; we can request the item back for the customer. This will attract a cost of J$2500.00 + GCT.
    • If the customer chooses not to leave the physically damaged item, he should take back the item upon leaving the department. RMA will not be responsible for any such items left in the department without proper documentation and/or agreement.
    • Physical damage includes: Scratches; burns; broken parts; bent CPU pins; misuse; damage caused from incorrect installation and improper handling; abuse; accident; alteration; neglect; unauthorized repair or installation.
    • Items that are physically damaged such as monitors and printers can be dealt with through the local Service Centre. This will attract a cost of $2500.00 + GCT.
  4. LIMITED WARRANTY ITEMS. All items sold by Intcomex Jamaica carry a one (1) year manufacturer warranty with the exception of the following items:
    1. Dell refurbished items carry thirty (30) days warranty only.
    2. Canon printers carry a one (1) year repair warranty only.
    3. There is no warranty on printer heads.
    4. AOC Monitors carry a three (3) year warranty.
    1. Epson Dot Matrix Print head carries only 3 months warrant.

    • Items returned which have passed the warranty period from the purchase date on the invoice will not be credited or replaced.
    • If the item expires, warranty on same day returned, Intcomex Jamaica has the obligation to accept such items.
    • When an item is replaced the warranty continues from the first purchase invoice with that product.
    • Warranty on items start on the date of the invoice, not when the items are picked up or delivered.
    • Printer and monitors purchased from Intcomex Jamaica which are out of warranty may be repaired. This will attract a service Charge of $2500.00 + GCTalong with the cost of any parts needed to do such repair.
    • All laptops will attract a service charge of $3000.00 + GCT along with the cost of any parts needed to do such repair
  5. ITEMS RETURNED FOR RESTOCKING.
    • Items can be accepted for restocking without a charge as long as such items are not used and are returned to the main warehouse within twenty four (24) hours for corporate area (Kingston & St. Catherine), Portmore and Spanish Town customers and within four (4) days for out of town customers of purchase date. These items must be in the original unopened packaging.
    • Open packaging which cannot be sold as new will not be accepted.
    • Items which were incorrectly invoiced must be returned within twenty four (24) hours for corporate area (Kingston & St. Andrew), Portmore and Spanish Town customers and within four (4) days for out- of- town customers to the main warehouse.
    • Returns are not accepted for any software.
    • Returns are not accepted for toners or inks, either in new or open condition.
  6. HEWLETT PACKARD WARRANTY ON PRINTERS, MONITORS, DEVICES AND SUPPLIES.
    • All HP products purchased with less than two (2) weeks can be replaced or credited except for all Inks, toners and HP computer systems. This is because of the DOA policy.
    • After two (2) weeks of purchase by the reseller or the end user, customer should call the HP SUPPORT LINE 1-800-711-2884 to report problem and have their products repaired or exchanged by HP Authorized Service Centre. This is when the unit is no longer classified as DOA.
    • If HP product was sold by a reseller to an end-user and such item is found to be defective with two (2) weeks of purchase by end-user, then the reseller should return the item back to Intcomex Jamaica with the end user invoice to verify the two weeks or less of purchase. ( conditions apply) Intcomex will also verify the same invoice for eligibility.
    • Intcomex Jamaica will replace, repair or credit ALL HPX printers purchased within one (1) year.
    • Intcomex Jamaica does not accept defective Ink or toners. Such items are supported through the HP SUPPORT LINE 1-800-711-2884

  7. COMPUTERS, H S I and BLUE CODE SYSTEMS.
    • Intcomex Jamaica will stand support for all BLUE CODE and HSI systems as long as the warranty seals are not broken or tampered with. If the “Warranty Void if removed” stickers are broken or tampered with, warranty on the Computer System is held void.
    • Intcomex facilitates customers with assembly of clone computers; this service attracts an assembly fee. However, a customer’s clone system which was assembled by Intcomex Jamaica is treated as purchase of parts.
    • The warranty policy covers the actual parts sold, therefore Intcomex Jamaica is not obligated to fix or troubleshoot a machine brought in for problems.
    • In the event where such system is not working properly, customer should do their own trouble- shooting to rectify the problem and to identify the defective component and return it to RMA; should the customer want the RMA department to trouble shoot the machine, there will be a service charge of J$2,500.00 + GCT
    • Trouble shooting on any computers which were not purchased from Intcomex Jamaica will also attract a service charge of J$2,500.00 + GCT.
  8. REFURBISHED ITEMS.
    • All refurbished items at the RMA department are available for sale and can be purchased at 50% of the total value on the listed price.
    • There is no warranty provided on these refurbished items.
